Vertas are pleased to announce the launch of a new passenger transport service for villages into Bury St Edmunds.
Working with local parishes of Elmswell, Woolpit, Beyton and Thurston the new service offers a pre-booked minibus/taxi connecting the villages, into central Bury on Wednesday and Saturday. Departing from Elmswell at 0915 arriving in Bury at 1015 returning to the villages from Bury at 1330.
This enables passengers to spend time in Bury on market days.
To travel on the vehicle, seats have to be booked through the local Parish, who are circulating details of the service and contact numbers, to local residents.
The reason for setting up this new service provision is because of the demise of commercial local bus services in the area. The aim of this new venture is to provide reasonably priced transport for local people who do not have access to local bus services and Vertas are pleased to be able to co operate with the local community in providing this service.
The operation is flexible and if desired. Vertas is able to provide additional services in the area to various destinations. Local residents can discuss this with their parish contacts who will discuss any requirements with Vertas.
The parishes and Vertas very much hope that the service will be well supported and look forward to developing the service in the future.
